Technology Policy Fellow at the Aspen Institute Tech Policy Hub. She served for three years as a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow (PIF), an entrepreneur-in-residence tackling USA’s biggest challenges. While a PIF, she co-created with public servants an Innovation Playbook and Innovation Toolkit housed on Innovation.gov. She also launched The Better Government Movement. She is the author of Empathy for Change: How to Build a More Understanding World. The book incorporates her experience building cultures and movements of change for more than a decade and stories from dozens of experts in leading change with empathy. As a tech expert, she has worked on technology challenges around social issues like homelessness and systemic racism. Her latest project, “People Powered Policy”, in Oakland, California builds strategies to give disenfranchised groups a bigger voice in policy.
